Milnerton Area Profiling:

Are you looking for premises in Cape Town, but not sure where to start? Let us look at the Milnerton node (that covers a broad number of areas including Century City, Montague Gardens and Paarden Eiland). This mixed-use node is a central solution offering a diverse selection of office, retail, and industrial property opportunities.  An excellent lifestyle choice for you and your staff, with some of the best schools and world-renowned shopping facilities, with great access to all the main arterials.  When is the last time you visited Canal Walk Shopping Centre?  The retail landmark now offers over 400 shops and is currently the third largest centre in Africa (following in the footsteps of Gateway in Durban and Sandton City in Johannesburg).

Century City is a younger suburb of "the Mother City" and its incredible to see how development has sky-rocketed in the last few decades.  It all started with a vision, that has now grown into a modern city - particularly popular with the software and tech companies.  Byte Orbit, MTN, ABSA and Discovery are decorating the Bridgeways precinct with their presence and leading the way by setting up shop in this popular business precinct and Vodacom further down Century Boulevard. Exciting new developments to be completed soon, includes the mixed-use Bridgewater One hub being created where Ratanga Junction, a well-known theme park used to be (adjacent to the prestigious Sable Corner Development).  A Century City highlight is the Century City Art Trail, "a series of environmental artworks commissioned by various corporate citizens of Century City and executed by community-based and other artists".  Works include scientific and technological exhibits around Century City, one of which the "Mirrlees Watson Beam Engine Flywheel" opposite the Virgin Active Century City (and weighing 26 tons, with a wheel diameter of 5m).  Century City is also home to Hillsong Church, one of eight global destinations.

If you are looking for value, Millennium Business Park opposite the Porsche Garage and Century Square that faces onto Intaka Island offers a great variety of smaller satellite office options, whereas if you are a larger corporate looking for a prestigious business address, Bridgeway is the place to be (think Century City Conference Centre and Hotel, Tiger's Milk and La Parada Eateries and the Square where popular live music events are hosted from time to time).  Century City is Cape Town's corporate jungle and there are ample offices to choose from, with a limited retail offering outside of the main Canal Walk centre (unless destination retail is your game). 

There are a few hotels to choose from - including the Century City Hotel, Crystal Towers by Marriott, The Colosseum Hotel, The Stay Easy Hotel and Manhattan Hotel.   Other inhabitants in the city includes large motor vehicle showrooms such as AMG Mercedes Benz, SMG BMW, Honda, and a newcomer to the block - Audi, that recently purchased the old Jeep site in Century Boulevard.  Warehouses and factories are predominantly located in the Montague Gardens section, neighbouring Century City - but you will find that there are a few high-end warehouse facilities on the Edison Way and Century Gate side of Century City.

We live in a world where efficiency is key and time is money - therefore your chosen node should be central, with close proximity to the Airport, Harbour and CBD (check, check and check).  Century City is well integrated with the public transport grid and therefore well suited for trade and investment purposes.
 

Let us have a look at a few of the prominent commercial developments and buildings within Century City.  Did you know that there are over 40 different commercial sectional title office schemes in Century City alone?  A few of the larger freehold developments include the Vodacom building, 1 Waterstone and Park One. 

You will find that the main roads curve around the Central areas and Intaka, Century Boulevard on the one side, Ratanga road on the other and Century Way in between.  Oxbow connects the Estuaries and Park road, and Esplanade offers access to Central Park. In terms of main arterials, you have the N1 off-ramp on the Century Boulevard side (linking to the Bellville and Paarl directions as well as to Cape Town and the M5) and Bosmansdam road offering access to the R27 and N7.

I love the convenience of the MyCiti bus-stops in strategic locations around the suburb.  The e-parking facilities serve as overflow parking solutions, where additional staff parking is a requirement.  Staff making use of other transport options are able to utilise modern taxi and train infrastructure - with Century City's own railway station.

Ok, now for my favourite part - where to go in Century City...  Why not visit Bricklane Eatery at the Quays in Park lane, or take a walk down the pedestrian walkway next to the Canal opposite Canal Walk for a quick lunchtime break (parking available outside the Manhattan Hotel in Esplanade road)?  Bootleggers is a popular catch-up spot, but Tiger's Milk never disappoints.  Century Village is the new kid on the block, a convenience centre with Spar and Tops! as anchors.  The rest of the mix include a Greens, Akiya Sushi, CBD Oils, Wellness outlet, Tailor, Postnet and Hair Salon.  Curro High school is opposite the road and the Intercare Day hospital and Endeavour Educare Centre is about a 5 minute-drive from there.
