Intro

Strand is a picturesque town which lies at the foot of the Hottentots Holland Mountains, between Macassar and Gordon's Bay, with 5 kms of white sandy beach, as well as an Olympic size swimming pool. Beachfront apartment blocks provide permanent and holiday accommodation.

History

Previously Strand was known as Mostert's Bay, and was established as a fishing resort in 1714. More recently, it has become a favourite holidaying and surfing spot.
